On Saturday, 30th November, the Flute Choir and Clarinet Choir brought festive cheer to St Mary’s and All Saints Church in Chesterfield as part of the annual Christmas Tree Festival. The packed church buzzed with visitors admiring the beautifully decorated trees, many of whom paused to enjoy the musical performances in the stunning acoustic setting of the iconic “Crooked Spire.”
A Festive Repertoire
Both choirs delivered superb performances, showcasing their talents with a repertoire that included a mix of traditional carols and seasonal favorites. Highlights of the afternoon included "Carol of the Bells," "Sleigh Ride," and the jazzy rhythm of "Jingle Bell Rock." These well-loved tunes were complemented by classic carols, adding to the festive ambiance of the event. The audience was captivated by the rich tones of the clarinets and the lyrical beauty of the flutes, filling the church with warmth and holiday spirit.
A Celebration of Community and Music
The students not only played brilliantly but also represented CNEDMC as excellent ambassadors for the joy of music-making. Performing in the heart of the community, they demonstrated how music can bring people together, lifting spirits and spreading joy.
Adding to the festive occasion was the CNEDMC Christmas tree, beautifully decorated and displayed as part of the festival.
Thank You for a Fantastic Afternoon
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone involved in making this event such a success: the students for their dedication and wonderful performances, the music centre staff for their guidance, and the church for hosting.
The event was a perfect start to the festive season, leaving visitors with smiles on their faces and music in their hearts.
